Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar's Death Confirmed: Mutual Statements From Israel And Hamas

Hamas leader Yahya Sinvar and commanders Mahmoud Hamdan and Hani Hamdan have been confirmed dead following an attack. Hamas officials stated that there are strong indications of Sinvar’s death, while Israel announced that DNA analysis matched Sinvar’s identity.

Claims regarding Sinvar’s death emerged during Israel’s ongoing operations in Gaza. Hamas sources indicated that evidence from Gaza pointed to the death of their leader. Images circulated on social media purportedly showing Sinvar under the rubble of a building in the Rafah area.

Sky News Arabia, citing an Israeli official, also reported that Yahya Sinvar and the commanders were killed in the attack. According to Israeli media, DNA testing was conducted on the bodies recovered, confirming Sinvar’s identity.

Hamas called for sensitivity regarding the reports of their leader’s death, acknowledging the signs pointing to Sinvar’s demise. The organization described Israel’s actions as a “genocidal war” being waged not only on the battlefield but also through media.

Yahya Sinvar had assumed leadership of Hamas after the former political chief, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in Tehran in August.
